DIN EN857 2SN-K Hydraulic Hose Introduction

The Honestflex DIN EN857 2SN-K hydraulic hose is a compact, high-pressure hydraulic hose designed strictly according to international standards. It is specifically developed for hydraulic systems with limited space but demanding performance requirements. This hose features a three-layer precision structure: the inner layer is made of oil-resistant synthetic rubber (typically nitrile rubber, NBR), ensuring excellent chemical compatibility with various hydraulic oils; the reinforcing layer uses a two-layer high-tensile-strength steel wire braided structure, providing the hose with excellent pressure resistance and pulse resistance; the outer layer is made of oil-resistant, ozone-resistant, and abrasion-resistant synthetic rubber (typically neoprene rubber, CR), effectively protecting the reinforcing layer from external environmental corrosion. This product meets and exceeds the requirements of the DIN EN857 2SC standard. Its compact design results in a smaller outer diameter and lower bending radius, making it particularly suitable for medium- and high-pressure hydraulic systems with limited installation space.

FAQ

Q1: What media are suitable for conveying with the DIN EN857 2SN-K hydraulic hose?

This hose is mainly used for conveying mineral oil-based hydraulic oil, lubricating oil, emulsions, and compressed air. It can also be used for conveying ethylene glycol-based hydraulic oil, water-glycol flame-retardant hydraulic fluid, and petroleum-based products such as diesel. It is not suitable for conveying strong acids, strong alkalis, or food-grade media.

Q2: What is the operating temperature range of the hose?

The standard model has an operating temperature range of -40°C to +100°C (-40°F to +212°F), meeting the requirements of most climatic conditions and equipment operating conditions. For short-term operations requiring the conveying of high-temperature fluids, some specifications can withstand peak temperatures of +120°C. Special cold-resistant models are available for special low-temperature environments.

Q3: What is the rated working pressure of the hose? How is burst pressure understood?

The working pressure depends on the hose's inner diameter and is typically between 200 bar and 450 bar. For example, smaller diameter hoses can withstand higher pressures. This hose is designed with a safety factor of 4:1, meaning the burst pressure is four times the rated working pressure, ensuring absolute safety within the rated pressure range.

Q4: How is the hose's pulse resistance? What is its service life?

This hose undergoes rigorous pulse testing according to ISO 6803 standards and can withstand at least 200,000 (up to 1 million for some models) high-pressure pulse impacts from zero to the rated working pressure without failure. In actual use, with proper installation and operation, the hose's lifespan can reach several years, depending on operating conditions and maintenance frequency.

Q5: Why is the hose designed with a compact size? What are the practical benefits?

The compact design means that while maintaining the same pressure resistance rating, the hose has a smaller outer diameter and a lower bending radius. In practical use, this brings three major benefits: first, it is easier to install in confined spaces; second, less space is required when bending the hose, avoiding interference with other components; and third, the overall weight is reduced, lowering the load on the connection joints.

Q6: Which international standards does the hose comply with?

This hose primarily conforms to the DIN EN857 2SN standard. DIN EN857 is a compact hydraulic hose standard developed by the European Committee for Standardization, where 2SN represents a two-layer steel wire braided structure and K represents a compact design.

Q7: What hose sizes are available?

Standard products typically range in inner diameter from DN6 to DN25. Each size has clearly defined rated working pressure, minimum bending radius, and weight data; please refer to the product technical parameter table for details.

Q8: Is the hose outer layer abrasion-resistant? Is an additional protective sleeve required?

The outer rubber layer of this hose undergoes special abrasion-resistant reinforcement treatment, exceeding standard requirements and capable of withstanding daily contact friction with metal parts and rough surfaces. For most routine operating conditions, no additional protective sleeve is necessary. Only in extremely harsh and abrasive environments is additional protective measures recommended.

Q9: What fittings can this hose be used with?

This hose can be used with various hydraulic fittings conforming to DIN, SAE, and ISO standards, such as tapered fittings, flange fittings, and British threaded fittings. It is recommended to use professional crimping equipment and processes for connector installation to ensure reliable connection and sealing performance.

Q10: How to properly store hoses to extend their service life?

Hose should be stored in a cool, dry, and dark environment, with the temperature ideally between 0°C and +35°C. Avoid contact with ozone, strong ultraviolet light, chemicals, and heat sources. Store in a naturally coiled position, avoiding excessive bending, compression, or hanging heavy objects. For long-term storage, it is recommended to turn the hose over periodically to prevent permanent deformation.

Q11: What should I do if the hose leaks oil?

First, check if the connector is loose or poorly crimped. If necessary, retighten or replace the connector. If the oil leak is caused by a ruptured hose, stop using it immediately and replace it with a new hose. Do not attempt repairs, as this could cause a safety accident due to high-pressure oil spray.

Q12: Can hoses be reused? Can connectors be re-crimped?

Hose itself is a disposable product; it is not recommended to reuse used hoses. Re-crimping connectors is generally not recommended, as disassembly and re-crimping can damage the connector structure and sealing surface. If the hose needs to be replaced, it is recommended to use new hoses and new fittings to ensure system reliability.
